"The Men’s Calidez Down Parka is great. Beautiful style and craftsmanship. Fits perfectly and at $100 off I couldn’t pass it up."
"This jacket is very well-built. Minimal yet elegant looking. I wanted something that is warm and waterproof for my husband. We looked at a few different brands but either the fit isn’t as snug or the design is too bulky. This jacket was just right - good looking and functional, very weather proof for NY winter. It does run a little big. My husband is typically a medium but the small here fits him just right."
"This is an understated coat that doesn't add too much bulk, but is adequtely insulated for weather that is truly rough windy, wet or bitterly cold. I wanted something that I could wear over my business casual outfits to work but still be water resistant/proof and keep me warm while shoveling snow. This coat fits the bill. It is nice how it is constructed because usually with these types of coats if the zipper is not that good then it ruins the whole coat, but the zipper is good and also the way the zipper and the flaps around it are constructed are high quality so the zipper doesn't get stuck in material around it. Also, it had a down feather odor when I first wore it, but after I've worn it like a week, now it just smells like me (decent, not off-putting). I am muscular and overweight, big shoulders and big arms and a bit of a gut. 6'3" and I usually get an XL tall when available, the XXL fits me great, not fitted, but not overly boxy or big. The arms are just right. I wear a 37" sleeve on dress shirts."
"Glad I found this. So many positives: not too long, not too short; very warm; lots of pockets; detachable hood; clever inner cuffs; durable zippers. Runs a bit big. I often wear XL but glad I got the L."
"I have looked and looked for many different men’s hooded cold-weather jackets and this one is the best by far I have seen or owned. I need to remain warm when I’m outside in the cold weather and this amazing jacket is perfect for me!"
"I’ve now worn the Calidez through two NYC blizzards in a month, the last blizzard that hit a month ago and the current “snow bomb,” and consider it the best parka on the market for the price. Being strong and stocky, I wanted a parka that didn’t make me look bigger. The Calidez does the job of being streamlined with sleek lines and warm without being heavy and bulky. I’ve stood at bus stops during blizzards, in 10 degrees Fahrenheit, and felt nothing. It’s not long either, providing coverage for my average height. When the blizzard started kicking up last night, I had such confidence in the Calidez that at 10pm, I suggested to my wife that we go to the neighborhood spot for a few glasses of wine. After taking my first steps into the snow, I zipped up, closed the storm flap, and threw the hood over my head. I felt untouchable. I run hot, by the way, and those giant North Face & Canada Goose parkas make me sweat the moment I step indoors. That doesn’t happen with the Calidez. You unzip, and that’s it. Comfort. No overheating from the sleeved furnace you volunteered to wear. There are side pockets in front, two mesh dump pockets inside, and a front zip pocket that sits high and is great for my cellphone. There’s also a hidden zip pocket inside that I just discovered. I kinda wish there were two front dump pockets too, just to drop my gloves with ease, but I figure that would make the coat bulky, and that’s what we want to avoid, so I’m okay with it. I just tuck my gloves into the inside dump pockets. A small detail I love is that the Cotopaxi lettering is blacked out, and though it’s slick and somewhat reflective, it’s still very discreet so I don’t feel like a walking advertisement. I hate feeling like I’m serving to promote a brand instead of the brand serving me. Nice job with this, Cotopaxi! I do also wish the coat came with a fur ruff, even a faux one. It would add that pocket of warm air in front of my face that the Inuit sought when attaching fur to their hoods. At $400, you won’t find a better parka than this. I walked pass Canada Goose the other day and saw a line of people waiting to get inside. Are you kidding me? I was wearing my sleek new Calidez and smiling. I’d made out like a bandit. If you run hot like me, skip the Canada Goose status symbol purchase, save yourself a thousand dollars, and purchase the Cotopaxi Calidez."
"I ordered a few jackets and returned them all except this one. This is warm, lightweight, stylish, and weatherproof. Other things I like: low key logo (it is reflective but mostly black), subtle blue accents, and it has a bit of collar so that keeps the neck warm. I thought the number of pockets would be a concern but after wearing this a few times, I don't find myself wanting more. I was also hoping to see a drawstring for adjustment, but the fit is fine without it."
"I was looking for a daily winter jacket and this is perfect. It looks great and it will be easy to dress up or down. It's super warm and comfy. It runs slightly larger than normal but it isn't noticeable really. . . it's likely just enough given it will allow for layering. . ."
"I live in NYC and was unfamiliar Cotopaxi until I researched best parkas for warmth and maneuverability. I ended up choosing the Calidez Down Parka and I am extremely pleased with the choice. It’s well-constructed, keeps me warm, blocks the wind, is waterproof and not at all bulky. It has lots of pockets, as well, which is a selling point of me. It’s a great parka!"
"I got this for my husband for Christmas because he has no winter coats. He’s been complaining about it forever, but won’t buy one for himself. My daughter and I searched online and saw this and fell in love with it. He’s a big guy with long arms and it fits perfect. He loves it!!!"
