"The Cotopaxi Allpa comes in a few different sizes. The 35L looks quite bulky, so I went with the 28L. However, because of its clamshell suitcase design, a 30L to 32L version would really hit the sweet spot and be the ultimate size for a three-day trip. Because of that missing middle ground, I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars."

Love the design, with a couple of improvement ideas!

"Overall, I really love it—the design, the colors, and everything! I just have two suggestions for improvement. First, could the zippers be designed to be a bit smoother? Second, if it could add a feature at the shoulder strap area to convert it into a fully enclosed travel pack (with a cover/flap to tuck away the straps), it would be much easier to check in as luggage."

"Whilst I love the concept of this bag I have found that the exterior material scuffs quite easily on the black version. Other than this it is a great quality bag and to be fair the sales assistant was very upfront about this fact but these are just aesthetics. The actual quality cannot be faulted. Perhaps consider a different colour and not the waterproof material"

Fantastic Warranty on a great product

"I purchased my original Allpa 28L about 11 years ago and have used it regularly for lots of weekend trip, a perfect airline carryon and I alway marvel at how much stuff I can fit in it. The out coating stated to come off and I was convinced I would be buying another, but a quick check showed it might be covered under warranty. To my surprise it was, and Cotopaxi quickly replaced it! I look forward to many more travels with my "new" Allpa 28L. Thanks!!"

Great bag with great bulk

"Bags in this range tend to be built like tanks and weigh more, so that's not an issue specific to this bag, but it is still on the heavier end. I wish that the hip belt were removable, especially since it's pretty basic and does not transfer load (only helps with the bag from swaying side-to-side). Also, the size is technically too big as a personal item for a lot of Airlines, but this bag has been shown to fit in sizers for those Airlines provided you don't pack the bag to the brim. That being said, it's still a solidly constructed bag, and I'm looking forward to traveling with it!"

Allpa 28 - *almost* perfect

"After a TON of research, comparisons, hemming and hawing, et al. I went for it on my Allpa28. I have not yet taken the trip I purchased it for, so further research is pending. I am hoping to use it as a carry on / underseat on Vueling - so wish me luck. I wish the straps tucked completely as they do on the 35 (I missed that they didn’t when i was trying them both) but I needed a smaller pack for the airline rules. Compression straps on the sides would be nice too but that’s a minor thought. Love the color, love the durability and love that my 3L allpa waist bag will still fit inside (I check that at the store too!). All in all, would still purchase, it’s good for my smaller frame and I have no doubt I can use it on american airline carriers."
