"The intention was to find a bag that we could travel with internationally without needing an additional suitcase. Done! The crew at the Portland Oregon store was very kind and accommodating when we wanted to open / try on / feel every bag in the store. Excellent first experience!"
Love the concept, lacks in execution
"I really wish I'd spent more time load testing this pack before I took it on a trip as I would have returned it. The main issue is how uncomfortable the straps are with a filled pack. The zip off portion was also awkward and uncomfortable when used on it's own. It tends to spill forward any time you try to unzip to access items inside. Wanted to love it, but it was a dud and don't think I'd take on another trip."

"I've been flying with my allpa 42 for six years with little issue. I liked the idea of extra room in a detachable sling bag. So far I like the better ability to organize,but wish there were strong grab handles on all sides like my previous pack. I like the bigger water bottle mesh pouch,but maybe have two or have it with the sleeve for laptops on the same side as the current grab handle."

"I researched several two in one travel backpacks for an upcoming trip across multiple countries and, while they all had good capacity, none had the sea leashes of the Allpa 50L. I love how the spacious sling bag only takes up vertical space when attached, making trains / buses / narrow aisle travel easier. I use the main bag for my suitcase and the sling for my plane / train / auto bag."

"This is a great bag for traveling and carrying clothing or other larger items. It has a large capacity with plenty of smaller storage compartments to help keep things organized. The material feels very well made, and the overall build quality is excellent. I especially like the side stretch pouch, although I wish the underside had a bit more durability in case you need to set the bag down on a rough or hard surface. Overall, this is a very nice, spacious, and well-built travel bag."
One thing could be better
"I love this bag in every way and have traveled to many countries with it. However the one thing that annoys me so much and will force me to eventually look for a better go-to travel bag. Is when the bag is laying down and main compartment is unzipped, you can’t access the small pouch without having the contents fall out because the zipper is on the opposite side. I get it’s for security but it’s a small thing that causes me big annoyance. Maybe everyone just takes it off before getting into the main compartment? Small fix could make a huge difference."

"I bought this backpack and packing cubes. The backpack is sturdy and well designed. I love that the packing cubes fit in just right and provide organization for the large compartment. The only downside is when the sling pack is attached and the backpack is open, the sling compartments are all facing down making them hard to reach and allowing contents to fall out when opening it. I still am glad I bought it and recommend it to others."

"I haven’t traveled with this bag yet. When I do hopefully I can update my review. I’m planning to use it during my European travels. I tend not to stay in a single place very long. Hotels for one night, on and off trains daily. First impression of the bag is that it will work perfectly for this. It’s incredibly sturdy and durable. It is smaller than I thought it would be although I am an over packer. My hope is to fit everything I would need in it for two weeks. I also LOVE the top part that comes off that can be used as a day pack."
