favorite all purpose jacket
"Bought this version for my husband as I own 2 for me. He loves it as much as I do. Warmth in the right places, lightweight and good movement for running, hiking and just going out. The hood is nice. I own a non hooded version but find tha lack of hood and the collar height to be awkward. It has become our favorite travel jacket when we need a little more warmth after the Otero jacket which is the same fabric in the sleeves as the Capa but throughout the jacket."

"I went from having never heard of Cotopaxi in my life 2 months ago to now owning 9 pieces. I have the Capa Hybrid jacket in 2 colors, Capa hooded jacket, Capa vest, Yermo jacket, Tempa fleece half-zip in 2 colors, Fuego vest, and the Tecca windbreaker. I love them all for different reasons but one reason they all share is the quality of the materials, especially the Capa line. The insulated portion of these jackets (and the entire vest) are so buttery soft!! They feel amazing, look amazing and the fit is literally perfect. I’m 6’2” 180lbs and the medium is a perfect fit in all of these styles. The Capa jackets are disproportionately warm for how incredibly lightweight they are! With just a t-shirt underneath the jacket keeps me toasty in 50 degree temperatures. I love the zipper pockets and the zippered inside chest pocket is a wonderful touch. If these jackets weren’t impressive enough already, they’re also very packable and compress nearly flat to fit nicely into any bag. Additionally impressive is how even after being packed away, when you go to put on the jacket again all the wrinkles smooth away instantly and the jacket looks just as crisp and stylish as usual. I usually have a hard time finding clothes that fit well and have long enough sleeves for my long arms and normally I have to sacrifice how an item fits on my body by sizing up so that I don’t have sleeves that come up short. This is not the case at all with Cotopaxi and is a big reason why I was immediately hooked. I love the slim fit of the classic fit jackets but if you wanted to wear a mid-layer underneath you’d have to size up. The jackets and fleeces labeled as having an “Updated Fit” are more designed to accommodate a mid-layer without needing to size up. I appreciate both fits, but I hope the classic fit keeps its spot on the roster for future releases because it’s truly a perfect and flattering form-fitting fit and it’s easier to size up if needed than it is to size down."
Excellent lightweight Packable warmth for Travel
"I purchased this in preparation for a trip to Ecuador (amongst other places, going to the real Cotopaxi 😉). This is a very versatile piece that feels comfortable next to the skin, is breathable, provides decent warmth for it's footprint and packs pretty small when necessary- ideal for this type of trip when I'll be in both hot and cool climates. I opted for the version without a hood because that way it's easier to pair with a rain/wind shell. Time will tell regarding long term durability. I normally wear a Medium- this fits, but it's on the snug/athletic side. I considered going with Large, but it depends if you plan on using it as an outer or middle layer (in my case, the latter). Pretty much exactly what I was looking for!"

"This is the perfect jacket that sits right between a mid layer and a fully puffy jacket. I like how the sleeves are not insulated, they are just a regular fleece type material and you also have the same fleece type material running down the side of the jacket which gives you total freedom of movement. Excellent to wear on the boat while fishing. Very packable where I can just leave it in the boat bag and it does not take up much room. It feels very lightweight and non restrictive, but really warm and comfortable. An additional bonus are the holes in the sleeves that you can put your thumbs through to keep half of your hands warm. Very useful when you're on a cold, windy boat."
